Previously produced under the appellation of Monteregio di Massa Marittima, this Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon blend is refined for one year in the used Avvoltore barrels before bottling. Since 2012, the wine was rebranded with the name "Barbaspinosa", the name of a character of a short story written by Great Grandfather Giuseppe Leo Moris for his children. Now produced under the appellation Maremma Toscana, the mineral-rich clay soils in which the vines are grown give us a wine with body and character and deep aromas of black fruit. This wine is an excellent choice for both first and second courses.
